Wedding Album: Jean-André & Aletta

I did this layout of my cousin, Jean-André, and his lovely wife, Aletta’s wedding as part of the bi-weekly sketch challenge on the Facebook group, Scrap and Sell Across South Africa. I used the first sketch for 2020:

When I saw the anchors in the sketch, I immediately thought of doing this wedding with paper from Mintay Marina. The colours of the wedding were yellow and purple. It was interesting to combine yellow and purple with the reds and blues from the Marina paper.

Their wedding was held in Langebaan on 5 December 2015. I finished this layout on 19 January 2020.

I love being able to include wedding invites in my wedding layouts. My husband described this beach wedding as “relaxed and fun” – we all went barefoot!

I used purple corrugated blocks for some of the square photographs to give it a bit of texture.

The title and some of the elements I included are from the “All Aboard” Collection by FabScraps.

I actually used my new fussy cutting scissors for the first time while doing this layout. It really makes such a big difference to use small, sharp scissors. Mintay Papers really has the most beautiful fussy cutting elements!

I used rope, gauze and diamantés to finish off the layout.

Thank you so much for reading.
