“Where flowers bloom, so does hope” #176

I am so excited to join the Design Team at Through The Purple Haze Challenges! This is the challenge for January 2021:

I used paper from Stamperia’s Provence paper pack to make a card according to the color palette. I added elements from Penelope Dee’s title pages. I lifted the ‘polaroid flower’ image and the words: “Where flowers bloom, so does hope” with dimensional foam. I also used a purple border sticker on the front (and back) of the card. The clip on the top might look like a decorative item from the front, but it’s purpose will soon become clear.

I imagine giving this card to a friend having a hard time. A part of the inside card shows on the right and one can read the words: “To plant a garden, is to believe in tomorrow.” I can imagine the person receiving this card feeling a bit of hope at this point.

The inside of the card is full of fun surprises.

On the right, I used an digi stamp called “FLOWER BOUQUET GIRL” from the sponsor, Hetty Clare. The image is available on Etsy at: https://www.etsy.com/listing/818891581/flower-bouquet-girl-digi-stamp?ref=shop_home_active_30&pro=1&fbclid=IwAR2ekwFf1jLmAP4OJG2IS-1iV7jdbwEoDKirLpwdOAVEp-YKz3CmHox1xyM

I colored it digitally using Adobe Photoshop. I then printed the image on photo paper, inked the edges with distress. I stuck the image to the card with double sided tape and added a bow in the one corner.

On the left inside of the card, I added some more words from Penelope Dee: “The flowers of tomorrow are the seeds of today.” My idea is to add a packet of flower seeds with the clip above these words on the inside of the card, so that the person receiving the card may plant them. Hopefully this will cheer her up.

The FLOWER BOUQUET GIRL thus represents the flowers (of tomorrow) the person receives!

I loved making this card and I look forward to more projects for Through the Purple Haze Challenges.
