“White as snow” #259

Well, it took my until the 31st, but I started Bible Journaling in January 2021, like I wanted too!

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

Isaiah 1:18

My Design Team Project for The Crafter’s Café Challenge #259 is my first ever attempt at Bible Journaling!

I used the sponsored image by My Besties, “Magical Winter Wonderland Doll”

I colored it with Derwent Inktense in pencils. It was also my very first time using these pencils. They are so soft to use and a little bit of color goes such a long way, when you add a bit of water. My favorite technique is the one I used on the green leaves below, where I only outlined the leaves with the pencil and then added water to color the rest of the leaf.

This was normal printing paper – next time I might also use a bit of a thicker paper, so that the water don’t warp it as much.

After coloring and adding water, I added some glitter to the image.

I colored some of the words on the right hand side with the same techniques. For the rest of the Bible Journaling layout, I first added washi tape above and below the passage I wanted to highlight. Then I added some punched snow flakes and left over diamond dots to finish it off.

I might still have a long way to go with the finer Bible Journaling techniques, but it was such a precious experience and I am very pleased with the outcome. I really look forward to the next one.
